RESUMO:

Considering the human resources key factor for the development of the hotel activity, if it is a service rendering it is essential to combine the qualification of the workforce with the profile that the market demands. Qualification, when well disseminated, becomes an ally with several constructs, one of which is organizational commitment. However, the general objective of this research was to analyze the relationships between professional qualification and commitment in hotel organizations in the municipality of João Pessoa / PB. Thus, the theoretical basis addressed aspects related to the hotel sector, the importance of human capital, professional qualification and organizational commitment and its types. Regarding the methodology is descriptive in terms of its objectives, having as an analytical-quantitative approach, the SPSS program was used for the tabulation of data, in order to describe and correlate the variables in question. The survey had a sample of 20 hotels located in the municipality of João Pessoa, where in each hotel 5 respondents were assigned, totaling 100 respondents. The questionnaire was divided into three blocks: Professional qualification, organizational commitment and socioeconomic profile. Among the main findings of the study, the factorial analysis of the dimensions revealed higher loads for qualification benefits with a load of 0.922 and an instrumental impairment of 0.799. The correlation of greater magnitude was also between the instrumental impairment and the benefits of the qualification with 0.704. And in the regression model the R² between the professional qualification dimension and the instrumental impairment was 54.1%. However, there is a relationship with the affective and affiliative ties of commitment, which according to Medeiros (2003), are the best performers for organizations. Thus, this study leads to the reflection that it needs a realignment in the strategies of the company in order to achieve adequate commitment.
