RESUMO:

The marks are symbolic representations that provide a unique identification for products and services. This intangible asset is increasingly inserted in the process of relationship in companies, representing the organization and bringing competitive advantages. In this way, the tourist market has also benefited from this marketing strategy, since the increase in competitiveness among the destinations allows the tourist the greatest choice.  In this context, this research aims to investigate marks in religious events. Thus, the study proposes to analyze the construction of the brand identity of the Feast of Our Lady of Sam in Caicó-RN. The said municipality is located in the region of Seridó, also recognized for its religious identity and cultural traditions. Happening at an approximate time of 259 years, the event highlights a strong local religious representation. In this scenario, it becomes pertinent to understand its marketing strategies, being directed towards the creation of the brand identity of the party, which today can be considered cultural heritage, immaterial, according to the Institute historical heritage National artistic (IPHAN). The research consists of a study of qualitative and quantitative analysis, with the realization of interviews with stakeholders involved in the organizational process of the event. In addition, questionnaires will be applied with visitors and residents participating in the religious festival. The study also configures itself as exploratory and documentary research, since it will be applied observation techniques and field journal. It is considered that the results of this research make it possible to understand the existence of a religious mark of the Feast of Sam. In addition to identifying the elements that make up and characterization of this market compound, considered to be of great use to the municipality, as it portrays the cultural and religious identity of the Caicoense community.
