SUMMARY:
This dissertation is motivated by the study of Theater Scenography in Brazil, emphasizing the importance of creating a culture of collection and documentation and other records of the dressmaking profession. Some aspects such as the origin of the artwork and the artist are addressed in this research, seeking to gather necessary knowledge that intersect and reflect on the creative process, inspiration and production of an outfit. The city and region determine the access to textile articles that has been the most used raw material for the construction of this second skin of the actor, using semi-structured interviews with the costume designer, art director, set designer and makeup artist João Marcelino, became It is important to understand the processes between the artist and his work, seeking a reflection on the knowledge of Scenography, combining experiences with the world of sewing and some personal paths that interfere in professional artistic practice. Identify the methodology used for the creation processes, the materials most used in the works, the color palette that are recurrent in the works developed by him and their meanings, the shapes, textures and the style or signature of the creator. The collection that was gathered for this work from the sketches developed by the artist allows for exhibiting for those interested in the subject, students and researchers, access to sketches from different periods of his career, helps to identify traits and styles divided into four decades, contributing to art Potiguar, in addition to presenting subjects of modeling and textures as elements of visual communication.
