SUMMARY:

The present work investigates the representation of cangaço’s women in dramatic texts. For that, the dramas: Lampião (1953) by Rachel de Queiroz and Cangaceiras (2018) by Cynics Group of Teatro Cia. De Mulheres (Recife-PE), organized by Maria Cristina Siqueira, are sudied. Both works present the cangaço as the central theme of their narratives. In addition to proceeding an analysis of each play, the research intends to make a comparative examination between the modes of dramaturgical production and representation of the two works. The following authors are used as theoretical reference: Adriana Negreiros (2018), Ilsa Queiroz (2005), Ana Paula Freitas (2004), Jorge Dubatti (2016) e Jean-Pierre Sarrazac (2017).
