SUMMARY:

The present research project addresses workplace harassment, with a focus on the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). The researcher, inspired by experiences during the curricular internship in Social Work at the Division of Psychosocial Care for the Employee (DIAPS) in 2019, proposes a bibliographical analysis. The research aims to investigate theories on workplace harassment, its characteristics, concepts, consequences, and existing norms. Additionally, it will examine institutional actions carried out by UFRN in the last five years related to workplace harassment. The study's significance lies in the theoretical understanding of the phenomenon, emphasizing its importance in comprehending social and historical determinants, as well as the role of the State and social actors in addressing this issue in the workplace. The research is linked to the concentration area of "Sociability, Social Work, and Social Policy" within the Graduate Program, focusing on analyzing changes in the capital-labor relationship. The proposal underscores its social relevance, aiming to contribute to the Graduate Program, UFRN, and professionals, employees, and students. It emphasizes the importance of studying workplace harassment in a context of labor precarity. The study will employ documentary and bibliographical analyses, exploring themes such as the new morphology of work, contemporary transformations in the world of work, the definition of workplace harassment, its repercussions on worker health, the existence of legislation against this violence, among others. The goal is to contribute to the understanding and combat of workplace harassment.
