STATE, COMMODIFICATION OF WORKFORCE AND MARXIST THEORY OF VALUE

State. Commodification of the workforce. Value theory.

In this thesis project, we propose to analyze, based on Marx's theory of value, how the State relates to the commodification of the workforce in capitalism. Its specific universe of discussion is the relationship between the State and the workforce in the historical development of capitalism, privileging determinations over the process of commodification of the workforce. The starting point is the following research problem: if the structural contradictions of capital are also expressed in the actions of the State, the relationship between social policies and the reproduction of the workforce, based on the neoliberal trend, presents itself as a problem contemporary, which refers both to the processes of precarious living and working conditions of the working class and to the processes of dismantling social rights. In this sense, the relationship between changes in the field of rights and social policies and capitalist accumulation in the current historical period stands out, specifically the relationship between the State, based on social policies, and the commodification of the workforce in the formation and appreciation of economic value. The central problem of the investigation is, therefore: how does the State relate to the commodification of the workforce in capitalism? Therefore, the general objective is to analyze, based on Marx's theory of value, the relationship between the State and the commodification of labor power. With this direction, the following specific objectives are proposed: 1) Understanding the determinants of the commodity form in the analysis of value in Marx; 2) Analyze the transformations in the process of commodification of the workforce by capital; and 3) Analyze how the State relates to the workforce and its impact on the commodification of the workforce. The theoretical assumption is that the analysis of the State cannot do without the analysis of the exploitation of labor power, the material basis of all social relations within capitalism, strictly speaking from the Marxist analysis in which material relations constitute the basis of all social relations. relationships of each subject. . To this end, we will use Marx's theory of value as a central contribution to the investigative path, seeking to problematize the connections between the economic-social regulation of the State and the process of formation and valorization of value. From a procedural-methodological point of view, this is a study, essentially, of a theoretical nature, supported by bibliographical research. It is also classified as explanatory and qualitative in nature, based on the proposed objectives.
