SUMMARY:

This paper aims to examine the presence of elements relevant to the feminist debate among working class women, in particular, who live on the outskirts of the state capital. To this end, the background that delimits the work is related to the emergence and development of patriarchy as a system of segregation of the sexes and of domination and exploitation of women's lives and their subsequent articulation with the capitalist mode of production, which has the characteristic of stratification of society into socially antagonistic classes, manifested in the domination of workers by the owners of the means of production. Furthermore, we consider that another element extremely pertinent to this analysis is the articulation with racism, which creates a hybrid and complex system, which we call patriarchy-racist-capitalist. Based on this scenario, what is relevant to analyze for this work is the meeting point between these three systems and the creation of a specific exploited subject: working women. The central element of the relationship between these systems is the domination of differentiated subjects, however it is essential to analyze that all the antagonistic relations created by the patriarchate-racist-capitalist are also marked by the resistance of the oppressed subjects. In this way, as a response to domination, the resistance movements of the exploited subjects arise, and in the case of this work we focus on studying the response through the feminist movement. Knowing that, despite the central issue of feminism being the improvement of life for women, there are nowadays many aspects of this movement, and to understand which is more pertinent to the analysis of working women, it is necessary to exercise the study of the main aspects contemporary feminist movement and problematize their relationship or not with working women. The best way we found to study if there is a relationship between the feminist movement and women from the working classes was by going directly to them, and for that we will conduct field research, mediated by applying multiple choice questionnaires and conducting interviews. For the fieldwork cycle, the objective is to interview the sample of ten (10) women, young adults (20-35 years old) and adults (35-60 years old), living in the urban peripheries of Natal / RN, paying attention to one of the communities with the highest concentration of poverty, with priority being given to residents of the Felipe Camarão neighborhood (West Zone). Based on that, we intend to contribute to the discussion on the development of racist-capitalist patriarchy and the resistance of working women through feminism. This time, we seek to strengthen the critical debate about the analysis of these historical subjects, pointing out reflections for the academy, for society and for our professional category.
