SUMMARY:

 In contemporaneity the sharpening of tensions experienced by the working class as a whole has been notorious, and in the target of the research, by workers who work in the Social Assistance policy, since insecurities, individualism and competitiveness come reaching the set of these social relationships, which pervade the daily lives of these professionals. In the current context, it is necessary to strengthen the critique and analysis of the discussion around the consequences of the precariousness of work and the concrete impacts on workers, as the conflicts caused by the worsening of the perverse conditions of capitalism, of the exclusionary processes globalization and the sharpening of neoliberal relations compromise the autonomy of the quality of life, for example, among other conditions of social life. Given the above, this research proposes to analyze the determinations in the work process of workers who work in Social Assistance in the Western Seridó of Rio Grande do Norte and the possible implications of precarious work. Such justification is given by the worsening of the precariousness of the work suffered by these professionals in that region - as shown in results obtained from the indicators analyzed in SUAS public databases - which makes us realize the direct relationship with the macro-structural context. Regarding the methodological aspects, this is a field, documentary and bibliographic research with a quali-quantitative approach, since there will be direct contact with the target population of the study, in addition to the need to raise more objective data about the reality of the object in question. The research method – dialectical historical materialism – starts from the field of appearance, which allows the researcher to approach the essence of her object, capturing its structure and dynamics, in a dialectical process, which is a complex and challenging process. Thus, the thesis project presented here, already details the first results of this study, allowing to identify some categories that already show the universe that is the current object of study. Therefore, the proposal for the construction of this thesis brings as social and academic relevance the need to deepen studies aimed at critical understanding of the clashes suffered by the working class - especially workers of the Social Assistance policy, as they understand the mediation between the role of the Social Assistance social policy and the determinations of the world of work. Therefore, it is of fundamental importance to reinforce Marxist research in order to analyze/understand the particularities in the world of work and the real impact on the working and living conditions of workers who work in the aforementioned policy.
