SUMMARY:

This project aims to analyze the Professional Ethical-Political Project of the Social Work and the strategies used by social workers from the Municipal Health Department of Maceió (AL) for its consolidation in the professional routine. Its main objective is to know and analyze the ethical-political challenges posed to social workers for the consolidation of the ethical-political project of the profession, within the scope of the municipal public health policy of Maceió. The specific objectives are: to apprehend the impacts of the privatist project of the health in the professional practice of the social worker in this socio-occupational space and how social workers deal with and assess such impacts; identify and analyze the strategies and actions to strengthen the ethical-political project through the work of Social Work professionals in the Municipal Health Department of Maceió; identify and analyze the theoretical-political basis that references the acting of social workers in health policy. The perspective adopted in this project starts from the critical-dialectical method, wich establishes as central categories in the unveiling of reality the contradiction that moves history, mediation, historicity and totality. It will be discussed  during the entire process of approaching the object are categories such as work, ethics and politics. From this perspective and in order to achieve the objectives proposed for this investigation, it was decided a qualitative approach to the research, which will take place through three approaches, namely: literature review, document analysis and semi structured interview. Interviews will be carried out with effective social workers, who works in primary care at the Municipal Health Department of Maceió. In addition, the following criteria for inclusion in the sample were also established: a) who are not in the probationary stage, b) who are active. A random draw will be carried out among professionals who meet these criteria, in order to choose one professional per district, in the four districts with the lowest number of social workers and two professionals in the four districts that concentrate more social workers, making a sample total of 12 social workers to be interviewed.The intention of this project is that the realization of this research provides clarification and raises discussions about the consolidation of the ethical-political project in the routine of this socio-occupational space, so that it can contribute to the debate within the Social Work and assist in the development process of actions to strengthen the professional project.
