SUMMARY:

The project now presented aims to analyze the living and working conditions, as well as the insertion of women in the Military Police of Rio Grande do Norte (PMRN) in the current scenario, having as its locus the Female Police Company (CPFem) of the PMRN, having  as its mains categories of analysis Labor, the Sexual Division of Labor and Patriarchal Relations of Sex. The choice for this institution (Military Police), as well as for the Female Police Company, stemmed from previous professional experiences, when perceiving unequal relations between men and women within the scope of the military police. Thus, in view of the above, the importance of analyzing the existence of machismo/patriarchy is revealed, as a culture present in the daily work of police woman. Our method of analysis is anchored in the materialist-historical-dialectical method as it understanding this to be a method capable of transcending the field of appearances, revealing the essence of the investigated object. In this way, Marxist Critical Theory is essential to achieve the proposed objectives of the study. Our research has a qualitative character, we will use semi-structured interviews with fifteen female police officers belonging to CPFem Finally, with this study, we aim to contribute to the critical debate of the profession in the area of Public Security, in the debate about the work of women in military institutions and, also, to deepen the discussion of materialist feminism.
