SUMMARY:

This research aims to analyze the cases of violence that occurred in Brazil against Trans women in the period from 2019 to 2020, that is, it proposes an analysis of the first years of the Jair Messias Bolsonaro’s government, asking us if there are specificities in the violence practiced against women Trans in relation Brazilian cis women. The rise of conservative governments to power, currently, it has brought issues of rights the LGBTQI + population towards to the center of the debate. The data from the report produced by the Bahia’s Gay Group (GGB, 2018), show that the rate of murders motivated by homo-lesbo-transphobia in the country, remains high and and that among that population, trans people are the most vulnerable and are the victims of the most cruel deaths. In view of this, we intend, therefore, to address the following questions: Are there differences in violence against Trans women compared to those imposed on Brazilian cis women? If so, how do they differ and what are their specificities? At this juncture, what are the limits and possibilities of public policies aimed at combating violence against the Brazilian LGBTQI + population and specifically for trans women? How are these subjects organizing themselves politically in resistance to withdrawals of rights? Therefore, from of the premises of historical and dialectical Materialism, and using qualitative research of bibliographic and documentary type, we intend to analyze the following documents: newspapers, magazines and national and local news, reports from the years 2019 and 2020 of Bahia’s Gay Group (GBB), Dossiers of murders and violence against Brazilian Transvestites and Transsexuals in 2019 and 2020, from the National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals (ANTRA) and the documents and legislation of the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights (MDH), during the years 2019 and 2020, which deal with the fight against violations of rights of the Brazilian's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender population. And as we do not disconnect our theoretical choices from our political options, we hope that this research can contribute to that an increasing number of people getting involved with the theme of sexual diversity and also getting involved in the struggle for a society without exploitation / domination class, race / ethnicity, gender / sex - here it is included issues involving sexual orientation and gender identity.
