RESUMO:

The Public Prosecution Service (MP) is an institution that has among its objectives the defense of the legal order and social interests, being one of the social work areas within the social and legal field. Responsible for defending the rights of the population, the MP had its role expanded with the Federal Constitution of 1988 imputing to them a greater performance in the scope of collective law, and consequently, of public policies. The objective of the research is to apprehend the particularities of the work of the social worker in meeting the collective demands in the Operational Support Centers for the Prosecutor's Office (Caop's) of the Rio Grande do Norte State Public Prosecution Service (MPRN), which are auxiliary bodies, within the framework of the MP, created to provide technical advice to the prosecutors in various areas (health, elderly, childhood and youth, among others). The purpose of this study is to apprehend and identify the process of insertion of social workers in these Support Centers, from the perspective of systematizing how the professional work has been performed. The methodological procedures are based on the Marxist critical-dialectical method, as it allows the investigation of reality in its entirety in a movement that makes it possible to articulate universal and particular expressions. The research is qualitative, exploratory in nature and will combine bibliographical, documentary and semi-structured interviews with Caop's social workers. The study seeks to give visibility to the process of expanding the expansion of professional insertion and the important work done by the social workers in the MP. And therefore publicize the relevance of the work of Social Work within the scope of collective law as a strategic and expanded space for the defense of the interests of the working class.
