RESUMO:

This research project quest to analyze the material needs and processes of women students of professional and technology education matriculated at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN), specifically students from Campus Natal Central. The purpose of this study is to analyze the conditions for insertion, permanence and success of the working-class women in the IFRN, reflecting on the challenges faced by them in a class, racist and patriarchal society and considering the current Brazilian context, permeated by the advance of conservatism, for the loss of rights and for the resurgence of misogynist violence. The analyzes will start from categories such as "patriarchy" and "education", trying to reflect how the educational policy at the general and institutional level of the IFRN deal with issues related to gender patriarchal inequalities. In addition, it will also be questioned and discussed how these inequalities present themselves in this educational space and how they are perceived by the students. Patriarchy presents itself as one of the main supports of capitalism in force in the world and is understood generically as a system of power that guarantees superiority and sovereignty in social relations to man to the detriment of women. It is also emphasized that professional and technological education has historically been dominated by men; there is still a strong male predominance in science and technology appropriation, making it difficult for women to enter these areas. Regarding methodological procedures, the study proposal has a qualitative character and will use the historical-dialectical materialist method, which proposes a process of approximation to the essence of the phenomena, capable of apprehending its multiple determinations. Moreover, the proposed research process itself is dialectical, starting from the theoretical to the empirical plane and again returning to the theoretical with the enrichment of the object. Based on this understanding, in addition to conducting bibliographical-documentary research, field research will be conducted from semistructured interviews with students from Campus Natal Central. The relevance of the research is to contribute to a greater knowledge of education professionals and related areas about the historical and cultural forms of exploitation and oppression of women, based on patriarchy. The study understands that the inequalities associated with women in school involve much more than understanding their explicit manifestations, but also the analysis of how Brazilian and world education remains classist, sexist and crystallized in a white and European worldview.
