RESUMO:

This research project was born from some concerns and questions arising from the professional practice of Social Work at the Public Ministry of the State of Rio Grande do Norte (MPRN). Its purpose to analyze the professional practice of Social Work within the institution, with a view to understanding its particularities, within the context of State and Law conceptions; map the areas where the Social Work is inserted; identify the work processes in which the social workers are inserted; analyze the attributions of Social Work in the MPRN, the demands required and the professional responses to these demands; and unveil the possibilities, limits and challenges that exist in the professional practice of Social Work in the MPRN. Therefore, this research project proposes to study the Social Work inserted in the context of the relations established in the MPRN. The dialectical critical method will be adopted, believing that it allows to unveil reality, going beyond the apparent. With regard to the type of research to be adopted, considering the object to be investigated, it was decided to undertake a qualitative exploratory research, without neglecting quantitative data relevant to the analysis process. As techniques and research instruments foreseen for the collection of data, work will be done with bibliographic research; documentary research and semi-structured questionnaires. With regard to documentary research, the analysis will be prioritized national and state legislations, documents under the MPRN and legislation and documents of the Federal Council of Social Work / Regional Council of Social Work 14th region). The year 2017 will also be used as a time cut out for documentary research in the MPRN. As far as the research universe is concerned, there are 21 (twenty one) social workers in the MPRN, distributed in several institutions, in the cities of Natal , in the High West region and Macau. The following inclusion criteria were chosen in the research: to be social worker, to belong to the MPRN's effective staff and to have as scope of activity the whole State, as well as the professionals who serve only the city of Natal, which corresponds to 18 professionals, when the researcher is excluded. From this universe, we intend to apply one (01) questionnaire per workplace, which means that 11 (eleven) social workers will participate in this research. The choice of social workers will be by lottery in places where there are more than one professional. It is hoped that this study has the potential to contribute to the construction and deepening of knowledge about the work of the social worker in the sociojuridical fiel, specifically within the scope of the Public Ministries of the Northeast Region. In addition, given its novelty in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, the present proposal may foster the construction of a collective professional identity and the implementation of a critical, ethical and political professional project in the MPRN.
