RESUMO:

This thesis project aims to investigate the particularities of the working conditions of the social workers of the Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL), in the field of student assistance, using as a basis of study the changes in the world of work, which over the course of time has been shaping broad and profound transformations, and the deregulation of state actions in the neoliberal context, which directly affect the professional practice of the social worker. It is intended to reveal how working conditions interfere in the professional actions of social workers, as well as in the objective and subjective conditions of their professional practice. The theoretical and historical study allows us to perceive that, in contemporary capitalism, the increase in the exploitation of the labor force has led to the aggravation of the precariousness of work, which occurs in both the productive sector and the unproductive sector, there are particularities in each. Thus, the social worker who works mostly in the services sector also experiences the harmful effects of the precariousness of working conditions in their professional practice and through the wage relationship is inserted in the process of commodification of the labor force. On the trail of this understanding, we intend to analyze the inflections to the professional practice of the social worker caused by the work management, considering the human workforce as a central element in the elaboration, planning and execution of social policies. The research has a qualitative character, based on a Marxian perspective, taking as a presupposition the historical-dialectical materialism, whose starting point is reality in its chaotic manifestations. In order to reach the objectives of the research, and respecting the particularity of the object, it is necessary to resort to the methodological procedures of bibliographic research, documentary research and field research, where a reflection and analysis will be built on the professional practice of social workers and current working conditions in the Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL) in face of the changes in the market, the State and Civil Society.
