RESUMO:

This project aims to analyze the repercussion of patriarchal gender relations on the vulnerability of men to the HIV / AIDS epidemic in Rio Grande do Norte in order to identify possible behavioral and ideological factors influencing the increase of HIV / AIDS cases in the male population; to examine the relationship between the men surveyed and health services and to indicate the obstacles to the implementation and implementation of the National Health Policy for Man (PNAISH, 2009) in health services. As methodological procedures, a dense bibliographic review is proposed in light of a critical analysis of the patriarchal relations of gender, masculinities and human health, as well as a mixed-focus research, articulating quantitative and qualitative data in the perspective of complementarity, character documentary, through the records contained in the medical and social records of the patients, and books of occurrence of the social workers who provide care in the wards of the Dra. Giselda Trigueiro Hospital in Natal / RN, where a semi-structured interview containing open and closed patient questions will also be used of the male attended for treatment of health, internal in the infirmary of Infectologia of the same hospital. In addressing human health from the perspective of patriarchal gender relations, we broaden the range of knowledge, as well as the range of possible transformations, among them, in the model of health care provided to this portion of the population and in the implementation of policies public health care for men and consequently for women. In this context we will also be able to deepen the deepening of the discussion in the field of knowledge of Social Service considering the centrality of patriarchal gender relations and their reflexes / impacts on health with a focus on males.
