RESUMO:
At the present time, between advances and setbacks social, economic and political reality challenges the Social Work to rethink the professional do to respond to the demands imposed by the working class. The profession has been called to respond to new expressions of social issues that are intensified with the movement of reality: antagonistic, uneven, dynamics. Among the professional demands imposed, feminism is configured as a necessary element for the performance of Social Work and its need is justified to the extent that we experience, increasingly, an environment marked by setbacks in the field of women's rights. In this sense, professional qualification the core in this contemporary discussion and points the way to a permanent transformation. Thus, this project aims to investigate the advances, contradictions and aftermaths of the discussion of gender and feminism in professional qualification in Social Work. We conceive that when the training includes the feminist discussion, the students develop better critical reading of reality, considering the patriarchy and chauvinism as aggregates elements of the capitalist mode of production and understand the historical necessity and contemporary importance of feminism in practice professional as well as in other walks of life. When there is this incorporation into professional qualification, there are not only gains for Social Work, but also for the whole society. So it is important to know how this theme lies in the sphere of training, to think about ways to advance more and more in this discussion.
