This dissertation research object the theoretical and methodological struggle that revolves around the discussion of gender, specifically, regarding the prospects for Marxist analysis and postmodern, particularly in queer theory. Considering that these prospects have differing theoretical categories that meet in order to analyze social reality and relations present in it, pointing thus different propositions and guidelines. In this sense, this work has the general objective: to analyze the gender debate in the field of Marxism and postmodernism; and as specific objectives: to survey the event annals of productions Making Gender; identify key trends and theoretical perspectives that has been highlighted in this event; seize the main categories of analysis of Marxism and postmodernism. Given this configuration, we seek, through this research, discuss these issues based on oral communication publications held at the International Seminar Making Gender. From a qualitative approach, we try to build this work performing data collection and literature on the subject. In this process, we chose to make a cut to get the final sample of our research, taking into account the magnitude of the event and the large number of articles published in it, thus, were collected data from International Seminar Proceedings Making Gender 7-10 because these were the ones that were available on the event website. To prepare the analysis were selected 80 articles, of which try to exploit the authors proposed reflections, as well as the main categories of analysis method used, subject area, bibliographic references and how gender issues are addressed before these elements. We can see in this short analysis, that there is a growing trend in the production of gender in the field of post-modern perspective, its prevalence can not be explained only by historical factors, since the genre was born from this source, but also because the difficulty that lies between the Marxists to work with this category. We realize, too, that there are plenty of spots that need to be problematized in approaches to gender, since most of the articles showed a superficial analysis of the situation they are social relations inserted, especially with regard to political and ideological positioning in the construction and social transformation, as well as the criticism of the existing order. The absence of these elements sets up a scenario immediacy and volatility in dealing with issues that deserve a more consistent reflection, in view of the socio-political situation that we experience today.
