SUMMARY:

The intended dissertation deals with an analysis of the landscape at the local level with the approach in the geotopes, in addition to the analysis of the risk of flooding for the properties that are located within the floodplain of the urban rivers, caused. The objective here is to identify and elaborate an analysis of the landscape units, correlating them with the properties that are in APPs of rivers and flood risk situation within the urban area of the municipality of Currais Novos-RN. The methodology used here is based on a bibliographical survey about the content to be treated as well as the basic methodological procedures to execute what was proposed here, seeking to delimit landscape units such as geofacies and geotopes, delimitation of APPs of rivers, in addition to the risk of flood. The preliminary results are the delimitation of the landscape units already discussed, with a total of sixteen geotopes distributed in five geofacies, which are within the Planalto da Borborema geocomplex, as well as the delimitation of APP areas and their transition with vehicles and local geotopes.
