SUMMARY:

Brazilian cachaça or brandy, as among many other names for this drink, has always been part of the
Brazilian economy from the colonial period to the present day. In recent decades, cachaça has gone from
being a less valued drink, linked to the lower classes, to a drink that is also sought after by the upper class.
Taking into account its importance within the Brazilian economic scenario, we aimed with this study to
analyze from the perspective of the theory of (SANTOS, 2008) on the production space circuits and
thecooperation circlesthe productive dynamics of Samanaú cachaça, located in the municipality of
Caicó/RN and produced since 2004, seeking to understand the difficulties encountered within the entire
process elapsed for its production. Also understanding the spatialization of this product within the so-called
technical-scientific-informational environment, regarding material and immaterial flows, these based on the
globalization of this distillate, allowing the expansion of commutations between places, these, not in a
continuous way. Methodologically, through bibliographic research and quantitative data in a qualitative
way, field work and the use of semi-structured interviews with all agents involved in the circuit, we sought
to understand how the entire process of the production chain of this product occurs and what difficulties
they encountered in the process of internationalization of cachaça in the current scenario.
