SUMMARY:

The focus of this research is in the study of a relevant spatial production circuit to the semiarid region of Paraíba. The aforementioned theory is presented as an important support in understanding the economic dimension of the place, articulated on a global scale, rationally understanding the flow of goods in the geographical space and thus describing all stages of the production process. That said, the general objective of this study is to analyze the spatial circuit of sisal production in the city ofPocinhosfrom Paraíba. This research is based on the dialectical method and it uses techniques such as bibliographic and documental research, survey and analysis of statistical data, field research and interviews, which will help in the development of this work that will have three chapters. Chapter I presents a conceptual approach regarding the geographical space and the globalization process, through the advancement of the technical-scientific-informational environment which, progressively, transformed the productive structures in which the process of spatialization of production is observed, from material and immaterial flows, and also brings reflections on the theory of spatial circuits of production and circles of cooperation. In chapter II, it is intended to carry out a spatiotemporal analysis of sisal production in the semiarid region of Paraíba, highlighting the political, social and economic circumstances in which it was developed. In chapter III, the aim is to describe and critically analyze the spatial circuit of sisal production, as well as its cooperation circles which are present throughout the production process in the city ofPocinhos-PB.
