Café Filho. Museological Documentation. Museum. Information. Inventory.
This research has as its main objective the preparation and availability of a summary
inventory of Café Filho Fonds, under the custody of the José Augusto Foundation,
linked to the Government of RN. The execution of the listing will contribute to the
preservation of documentation, which is historical and cultural heritage. It is justified
due to the need to know the location, identification and quantification of the collection
that is not accessible to the public, facilitating access to information, both for the
general public and for researchers. It intends to bring to the attention of the potiguar
society, who was the important figure of the national politics, that is unknown for the
majority of the people. The research is exploratory-descriptive, documental and
qualitative. For data collection, a semi-structured interview will be applied with
managers and employees of the Eloy de Souza Documentation Center and José
Augusto Foundation. As for the literature review, the reading about the origin and
importance of museums stands out, as well as the discussion on risk management,
memory and heritage. It also presents the biography of the former journalist and

collections of presidents of the republic, as part of the Union's heritage. It points to
the need for actions to combat risk and deterioration agents, through the adoption of
a risk management policy for the institution. Deals with museological documentation
and its main concepts. It highlights the cataloguing form as a relevant aid resource
for museological documentation and confirms its significant role in information
management systems.
