Improvements in the hospital bed management process: an integrative review

Objective: to identify the scientific evidence available in the literature about improvements in the hospital bed management process. Methodology: this is an integrative review, based on Scopus, Web of Science, Pubmed and LILACS databases, including articles published between 2016 and 2021, using specific search strategies for each database. Of the 2648 studies found, 11 were selected for analysis. Results: Improvements in the hospital bed management process are carried out through management tools that cover the topics of simulation modeling techniques, implementation of internal management of hospital beds and use of information systems. Conclusion: the tools suggested for improvements in bed management have the main intention of helping managers in decision making.
