Acreditah – Self-Assessment System for Hospital Accreditation
Hospital Accreditation; Patient safety; Quality Certification; Self-Assessment Programs
Accreditation is recognized as an important tool for adopting good organizational practices in hospitals. In addition to providing excellent care and patient safety, it allows optimization of resources and strengthens their respect towards society, suppliers and professionals. Therefore, in Brazil there is a growing demand for the certificate in hospital accreditation. However, organizations find it difficult to meet standards because implementing accreditation is not a simple process. Institutional, cultural and financial barriers can interfere with the process of obtaining the seal. Given this, the country has not surpassed the number of 5% of accredited hospitals. The objective of this work is to develop a web software to self-assess the level of organizational maturity in quality, preparing the hospital for the accreditation process. In order to achieve this goal, a literature review will be conducted on the subject, seeking differences and similarities in the evaluation process between the main accreditation standards present in Brazil, the ONA and JCI. As a result, the system is expected to enable hospitals to: optimize the process of quality performance control, evaluation and measurement; generate a situational diagnosis report and record a historical series of self-assessments - qualitative bases for the hospital to harmonize with the full range of standards imposed by national and international accreditation agencies.
