RESUMO:

Information is an element that is present in almost everything related to the organization. Managing information is indispensable for the survival of any organization, be it public or private. In this scenario is the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) that adopts metrics for the organization of its processes, as well as for achieving good results. In addition to a teaching, research and extension institution, UFRN also develops computerized information systems to assist the management of informational assets and the Training Center is an example of such systems. The Internship Center was created in order to contribute to the stage follow-up, however it provoked changes and dissonances that could be perceived between the system created and its users. The Coordination of Graduation in Production Engineering (CGEP) stands out in this stage follow-up, since from 2012 on it has developed a system for better control and follow-up. Thus, this research has the general objective of proposing improvements in the process of traineeship follow-up in CGEP and in the SIGAA module (Training Center), and for this purpose we intend, as specific objectives: to know the information flow of the internship process in CGEP; describe the level of maturity of the internship process management in CGEP; identify opportunities for improvement considering the context, documents and users. Academic and scientific justifications focus on the expansion of the proposed contents, allowing dialogues between them. The research will be of an applied nature, with a qualitative and quantitative approach regarding the research problem, and the investigative strategy will be a case study. The unit of analysis will be the stage follow-up process at UFRN and the sample, which will be of the intentional type, will be the process of follow-up of internships at CGEP. The instruments used will be documentary research, online questionnaires for students and semi-structured interviews for teachers. Subsequently, all the data collected will be evaluated and interpreted using the content analysis so that referrals and contributions can be made to the follow-up of the university internship.
