SUMMARY:

Drawing on the analysis of “Funky Tamborim”, a composition by singer and pianist Tania Maria, this study investigates the unfolding of practice and performance within Brazilian popular music, with the aim of examining my formative trajectory and the refinement of my artistic practice as a jazz singer interpreting this work. The study analyzes the processes involved in the practice of Brazilian popular singing, articulating them with reflections on my trajectory as a performer and highlighting how this experience contributes to the construction of knowledge in the field of musical performance. The methodology employed is autoethnography, which enables an approach that intertwines personal experience with critical inquiry.
