This document presents the results of a study that analyzed the effectiveness of pedagogical retraining in trombonists and other brass players diagnosed with Task-Specific Embouchure Focal Dystonia (hereinafter FTSE). To accomplish it, the author conducted a literature review, performed semi-structured interviews with professionals who retrained under the same protocol, his self-case study, and reflections on the entire process of preparing the recitals required to obtain his master's degree. It is known that FTSE is incurable, but the growing number of studies on the subject, including this one, could expand the related literature from the area addressed, unite health professionals and musicians specialized in the subject, and may bring hope to those who suffer from the disorder.
