OSUFPB IN FOCUS: THE ORCHESTRA ARRANGEMENTS AND THE PERCEPTION OF MUSICIANS IN CONNECTION WITH INTERPRETATION MUSICAL
Performative practices. Distributions. Béla Bartók. Likert scale.
The following research aims to perform an experiment of the musical perception of the University of Paraíba Symphony Orchestra (OSUFPB) through the interpretation of four fragments of Divertimento for Strings Orchestra Sz.113, BB.118 (1939) by the Hungarian composer Béla Bartók (1881-1945) in four distributions. In order to capture the musician´s perception, a questionnaire was developed containing eight questions based on the preestablished topics. Participant´s responses were captured using the 5-point Likert Scale, later the data was entered into the IBM SPSS Statistics 25 software (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for a Frequency and Percentage analysis. In addition, the information obtained through the software was condensed by the sum of the Negative, Neutral and Positive values and finally a Comparative Percentage Summary was made with our interpretation for each question, revealing new information about the musicians' perception and the distributions.
