Morphology of seedlings on seeds analysis of Pityrocarpa moniliformis and Poincianella pyramidalis
Vigor test, Physiological quality, Forest seeds, Dry forests.
Vigor tests are used to evaluate seed vigor, In order to complement the information obtained by the germination test, which classified as physical, physiological, biochemical and resistance to stress. Seedlings vigor test for the classification of seed lots has been little used, mainly with forest species. The objective of this study was to characterize seedlings of Pityrocarpa moniliformis and Poincianella pyramidalis on morphological aspects and to use them in the classification of their vigor. The study was divided into morphological characterization, physiological characterization of seed lots and seedling vigor classification. The results obtained in the physiological tests were correlated with the percentage of normal seedlings strong obtained in each seed lot. The results showed that there was a difference in the physiological quality of the seeds of the lots of P. moniliformis and P. pyramidalis and that the percentage of normal seedlings strong can be used for the physiological classification of the seeds of different plots of P. moniliformis and P. pyramidalis.
