COMMERCIALIZATION OF NATIVE FOREST PRODUCTS IN RIO GRANDE DO NORTE STATE, BRAZIL
Document of Forest Origin, Forest Products Transportation, Firewood, Wood.
The Forest Origin Document - DOF is a document of mandatory control and monitoring during the transport of products and sub products of native forest origin, which must accompany at all times the transportation and storage of the products. The objective of this work is to analyze the public data of the DOF system and identify the legalized forest products traded and transported in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, seeking information and subsidies for planning and decision making. The data used were made available by the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA), and correspond to all transport of forest products of native and legalized origin in the period from 2011 to 2016. The State of Rio Grande do Norte between the years of 2011 to 2016 received timber products from 25 states of the country, with the states of the North Region, specifically Pará, with higher volumes transported. The number of DOFs originating in the NB were increasing, about 22% per year between 2011 and 2014 and there was a retraction in emissions in the years 2015 and 2016, at the order of 13%. The main products transported in the state were: Lumber, Firewood and Wood Residues.
