Home visit; Family health strategy; professionals
The home visit is an instrument to promote the home care of the Family Health Strategy team that facilitates the linkage and acts in the promotion of health care. Thus, this research aims to analyze the understanding of family health strategy professionals about home visits. The research is qualitative, descriptive. It was carried out from April to May 2019 with 17 professionals from the family health strategies of two teams from the municipality of Apodi, in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. In addition, we performed non-participant and systematic observation. The data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and after they were transcribed and submitted to content analysis. From the analysis emerged four categories: Understanding home visits; Importance of home visits; Difficulties and challenges encountered in visits and planning of visits. We perceive that professionals understand the visits as home visits that should be offered only to users who are bedridden and / or unable to go to the Basic Unit, reinforcing the view of the hegemonic medical model in health. In addition, the visits are carried out randomly, without planning and close at home.
