SUMMARY:

Teleconsulting is a support tool for general practitioners in Primary Health Care (PHC). Through two-way digital information and communication technologies, they can interact with a specialist to discuss a clinical case and assist with diagnosis and therapeutic management. For PHC, teleconsulting fosters collaborative interprofessional work, continuing health education, equitable access to specialized care, especially in areas with a shortage of specialists, and efficiency in care, as a direct expected result is a reduced waiting list for specialized care. The Recife Municipal Telehealth Center (NMTR) began its activities in 2012 and has since offered teleguidance, teleconsultation, teleinterconsultation, teleconsultation, telemonitoring, and continuing education activities in various medical, nursing, and dental specialties. The NMTR currently offers teleconsultations in nine dental specialties: Stomatology, Endodontics, Periodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Dentistry for Patients with Special Needs, Orofacial Pain/Temporomandibular Dysfunction, Dental Prosthetics, Laser Therapy, and Public Health. The objective of this study is to analyze the historical series of requests for teleconsultations by primary care professionals in Recife, Pernambuco, from January 2022 to October 2025, using descriptive statistics, such as means and standard deviations, and analytical statistics using Pearson's linear correlation coefficient and simple linear regression. The structured and participatory integration of teledentistry into telehealth within the Unified Health System (SUS) highlights the importance of this service in the Oral Health Care Network, and this study aims to provide support for monitoring and evaluating this service in the city of Recife.
