SUMMARY:

Education is an integral part of the healthcare process, whether it be part of the care, management, training, or qualification process. To address the multiple facets of the healthcare field, it is extremely important that services have equipment that works to develop the skills of professionals, contributing to the training and qualification of healthcare professionals. Knowledge is built collectively, through the sharing of knowledge and experiences among the various actors involved in the healthcare process. Investing in encouraging the qualification of civil servants, as well as strengthening partnerships with educational institutions in order to promote participation in teaching, research, and extension, encourages future healthcare professionals to base their activities on the needs of the population and services. The question remains: how could the structuring of a Permanent Health Education Center (NEP) within the Municipal Health Secretariat help in the qualification and training of health professionals? The objective of this study is to implement a continuing education center for health professionals at the municipal health department of Currais Novos, Rio Grande do Norte, by raising awareness among management, technical staff at health facilities, and the Municipal Health Council (CMS) to understand and support the implementation of the continuing education center; developing an action plan for implementing the NEP; and presenting the proposal at a seminar. This is a qualitative, descriptive study that uses action research as its design and the Situational Strategic Planning (SSP) method. Fortnightly meetings will be held, both in person and online via Google Meet, to carry out the four stages of SSP: normative, strategic, tactical-operational, and explanatory. The data will be analyzed using brainstorming, GUT matrix, problem tree, and 5W2H matrix tools, and Bardin's content analysis will be used to analyze the statements recorded during the brainstorming session.
