THE MANAGEMENT OF INTERNAL CONTROL IN INCRA-RN, AN ANALYSIS BASED ON THE COSO I. METHOD.

The dissertation project aims to assess the Internal Control management of the Regional Superintendence of INCRA in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, based on COSO method I, in the perception of managers. To this end, it proposes to: describe the internal control environment of the Regional Superintendence of INCRA; identify the procedures adopted by the Superintendence to manage and assess risks; check the activities of established control by means of policies and procedures for risk mitigation; describe the communication process and supporting information to the functioning of internal control; and identify risk monitoring activities carried out by the Superintendence. Based on the literature on internal control in public administration and on the evaluation of internal control, administrative management will be developed a descriptive exploratory study with a qualitative approach. ethodologically, will adopt as a strategy of the case study research and uses interviews and documentary research data collection techniques. After analyzing the data, via the descriptive analysis-evaluation, also proposes to recommend actions to promote improvements in Internal Control management from the constraints diagnosed by COSO method I.
