SUMMARY:

In recent years, Brazil has invested in wind energy, with Rio Grande do Norte being one of the states that stands out in this segment. Recent studies show that communities impacted by the construction of wind farms do not receive adequate compensation and face a series of environmental, social and cultural consequences, often disregarded in the name of the "clean energy" image (Hofstaetter, 2016). The research aims to analyze the relationship between the clean energy discourse and social, environmental and territorial conflicts on the coast of Rio Grande do Norte, investigating how the construction of wind farms influences the process of tourist development and access to leisure. This is research with a mostly qualitative approach, of an analytical nature. The data collection technique will be based on document review, secondary databases and semi-structured interviews. The analysis will be carried out by crossing secondary data with Foucauldian discourse analysis, following the methodology of Hajer (2006), already used in conflict contexts (FAZITO et al., 2016). It is expected to investigate the social, economic, environmental and territorial impacts of the construction of wind farms in Rio Grande do Norte. This includes analyzing the effects of regulatory policies on the economic and tourist development of the affected population, the preservation of the environment and access to common community spaces.
