SUMMARY:

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the characteristics and dynamics of the relationship between intradestination tourist mobility, uses, and technological updates in Natal/RN and the metropolitan region. Specifically, this research seeks to identify the urban characteristics and peculiarities related to the tourist destination that influence tourist mobility. Initially, a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted to understand the studies on the theme of this research. METHODOLOGY: This is an exploratory-descriptive research with a qualitative and quantitative approach. To analyze the research object, semi-structured interviews will be conducted with different sectors that make up the analyzed destination to seek technical information on tourism mobility and its implications amidst the technological advancements observed in society as a whole. In addition, questionnaires will be applied to tourists as a way to collect data on their perception and satisfaction with the local transportation system. The analysis will also be based on secondary data from recent studies on urban and tourism mobility in Natal and the metropolitan region, as well as official reports and documents that better explain the context addressed in this study. To analyze the data from the semi-structured interviews, Content Analysis (CA) will be used. As for the questionnaire data, the descriptive analysis method will be used to infer the results. PRELIMINARY RESULTS: Preliminary results indicate that Natal, as a tourist destination, has urban peculiarities that directly impact tourism mobility, including local geography and road infrastructure. The implementation of technological solutions is a crucial point to facilitate movement and consequently access to attractions and tourist facilities.
