SUMMARY:

Contemporary society is inserted into a physical-digital context in its relationships, whether social, labor or educational, thus assuming an eminently hybrid character in terms of the use of space and resources. In the context of leisure, this reality is also present. Traditionally, leisure is practiced in its physical/presential dimension, and e-leisure, which refers to leisure in the digital/virtual dimension, is characterized by the use of technological resources. However, there are still gaps in conceptual models that can characterize leisure practices that occur simultaneously in both dimensions. In this sense, the aim of this paper is to characterize hybrid leisure (h-leisure) as a new form of leisure in contemporary society, focusing on the digital game Pump It Up and its developments. Pump It Up is a South Korean electronic sport that uses both the digital space, since it uses a technological resource, and the physical space, since it requires physical/presential movements on the part of its practitioners. The aim is also to identify the potential tourist attraction of Pump It Up events. The methodology used is characterized by explanatory-exploratory research of a qualitative nature carried out with Pump It Up practitioners. It is hoped that the results obtained will contribute to the construction of a conceptual model of h-leisure and corroborate the discussion of the e-sport Pump It Up as a hybrid leisure option.
