THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ART AND POLITICS: Possible expressions of confrontation and counter-hegemony
Art. Policy. Crossing. Activism. Social Fight.
This text presents the writings, still in progress and improvement, of the research that is being carried out in the Postgraduate Program in Performing Arts of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, at master's level, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Marcilio de Souza Vieira. The objective of the research is to investigate and discuss the possible relations between the artistic universe and the political universe, focusing on Brazilian reality, moving in reality from three perspectives: on the one hand, expressions of permanent confrontation, located here by artistic activism ; on the other hand, the insurgent and temporally localized confrontations represented here by occupations of public spaces as a form of protest in which they carried out artists; finally, the censure attacks that certain groups / individuals of the Brazilian political scene conducted in relation to artistic works. The research is of the exploratory type, carried out through bibliographical research and documentary research. In this text, I share the construction of the Introduction, the first chapter and part of the second chapter of the dissertation.
