SUMMARY:

This research investigates the constitution of the art-media body within Contemporary Scene, understood as a hybrid and symbiotic corporeality that emerges from the relationships between the performer's human body, the camera's technological body, and the poetic flows produced in the becoming of the scenic action. The investigation originates from the understanding of Performance as an expanded field of experimentation, traversing its historical displacements and its convergence with image technologies—particularly video—in order to reflect on the transformations of presence and the relationships among body, image, and apparatus. Methodologically, the study articulates theoretical-historical survey, artwork analysis, reflection on creative processes, and artistic-poetic experimentation, considering practice as a constitutive part of knowledge production. By tracking different moments of convergence between body, camera, and creation, it allows for a retrospective recognition of the genesis and development of the concept of the art-media body. Partial results demonstrate that this corporeality is not constituted as a fixed fusion between human and technology, but as a relational process of affect, feedback, and transmutation of poetics, in which the camera moves beyond a recording function to actively participate in creation. Furthermore, the research addresses a displacement that seeks to tension the developed concept within collective creation processes. Thus, the art-media body emerges as a way to understand presence as an expanded experience produced in the in-between, where body, image, technology, and poetics mutually intersect and transform, expanding the possibilities of presence, creation, and experience in the Contemporary Scene.
