SUMMARY:

This study seeks to understand the elements that sustain the theatrical production of groups from the interior of Rio Grande do Norte, drawing on the experiences of Companhia Teatral Arte Viva (Santa Cruz/RN), Coletivo Invisível de Teatro and Cia. Arte e Riso (Umarizal/RN), Cia. Teatro NÓ (Luís Gomes/RN), and Companhia Cultural Ciranduís (Janduís/RN). Moving beyond the formal and bureaucratic aspects often associated with theatrical production, the research aims to identify how these groups combine various elements to carry out and sustain their practices in contexts characterized by limited access to resources and social recognition. Through on-site semi-structured interviews and observation of the groups' activities, the study seeks an in-depth understanding of their experiences and organizational models. Engaging with scholarship on the history of Brazilian theater, theatrical production, and group-based theater, the research views production as a relational and historical field in which diverse forms of organization coexist and evolve. Furthermore, the study aims to contribute to documenting and valuing the trajectories and practices of these groups, recognizing their experiences as significant references for the study of theater and theatrical production.
