SUMMARY:

This study aims to investigate how the archetypal figures of the Mayan calendar, the Tzolkin (Argüelles, 1987), can be used in the creation of bodily matrices, taking as a reference the practices of Ritual Theatre (Haderchpek, 2021). Beyond the artistic dimension, it seeks a process of self-knowledge that highlights reflections on spirituality and human consciousness. Based on participatory action research and conversation as a research methodology, a creative process is outlined, the analysis of which adopts a qualitative character. This research also encompasses a reflection on normosis (Weil; Leloup; Crema, 2003), the analysis of some Tzolkin signs, and the creation of matrices within two specific contexts: the discipline of Pre-Expressive Training Elements and the experimentation process with the Arkhétypos Group. These experiences incorporate the signs of the Tzolkin and give new meaning to the discoveries of the subjects involved in the action. It is observed that working with the archetypal figures of the Tzolkin allowed the participants in this process to reconnect with themselves, reshaping the aesthetic experience.
