Body and voice awareness for lyrical singers

This dissertation aims to investigate the binomial body-voice, through practices that involve the acting of lyrical singers. Therefore, I propose to present, through a poetic writing, musical-theatrical concepts, based in theorists’ texts that discuss these themes, as well as my own experiences with theater and specially opera. I intend to think about a repertoire of exercises that I’ve been using, both in my preparation as a lyrical singer and/or in processes that I act as counselor and, this way, contribute with other artists in the creation of scenes and characters, as well as the interpretation of other types of repertoire in the lyrical singing.
