IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE CABOCLOS: scenic and corporal itineraries
Dance; Body; Popular culture.
The research I present consists of an investigation into the body of the popular geek, and the maintenance of his tradition. The object of the research is the universe of Caboclos de Major Sales / RN, present and active figures of the traditional "play" of Malhação de Judas. The subjects investigated in the research are the representative figures, master and jokers, responsible for the effectiveness of the game. I bring to dialogue and reflection of this work, Carvalho (2010), Alves (2006), Hall (2005), Bauman (2003), Merleau-Ponty (1945), Ávila (2007), Gurgel Laplantine (2004), Mauss (1974), and many others that contribute to a satisfactory analysis of the research. I will talk about the generative impulse of the research, the questions that arise, how I intend to account for them, and the methodological course I will adopt. I also dedicate myself to the encounter with the object of research, using an ethnographic approach, seeking to understand the senses that motivate the game, and how these senses constitute a significant link for their interaction with society. I also deal with a reflection on the issues of space-time, scenic and corporal itineraries, thinking about the scene historically constructed, socially and culturally by these bodies, so that the investigative focus will not be directed to the realization of synchronized movements, but rather the expressions Of corporeality traditionally lived by these bragging bodies, and the way they relate to the world.
