STUDENT ASSISTANCE POLICY AND THE POLITICAL-PEDAGOGICAL DIMENSION OF SOCIAL WORKERS IN FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES IN THE NORTHEAST REGION

The theoretical production of Social Work, about the professional performance of social workers in education policy, has been increasing in recent years and supports the analyses of this dissertation project. This project aims to analyze the theoretical production of Social Work to understand the phenomenon of the work of social workers in student assistance policy, within the scope of Federal Universities in the Northeast Region of Brazil, in the period between 2016 and 2024. The perspective of critical social theory, based on its epistemological categories, seeks to highlight the contradictions embedded in social policy within the scope of the Capitalist State and the efforts of social workers to carry out professional performance and education, aimed at human emancipation and full access to rights by social subjects.
