SUMMARY:

The main objective of this dissertation project is to analyze the determinations of the expansion/internalization process of Multiprofessional Health Residency Programs in Seridó Potiguar for health training and improvement of health care in the Seridó region. The reason that leads us to propose this research comes from the need to deepen the discussions initiated in the Completion Work of the Multidisciplinary Residency in Maternal and Child Health, in order to understand the process of expansion/internalization of health training. Above all, through the Multiprofessional Residencies in Health, in particular, the programs of the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, paying attention to their implications and potential, mainly with regard to changes in care practices, settlement of residents in the municipality, the precariousness of training and work in Seridó Potiguar, among other aspects. Thus, this research seeks to contribute to the understanding of the implications that the expansion/internalization of multi-professional health residencies have in Seridó Potiguar, presenting the contributions and challenges of the programs in the retention and qualification of health professionals, as well as, making visible the need for increase/investment to implement these programs. To this end, we will use a quantitative-qualitative approach as a theoretical-methodological approach, through documentary, bibliographic and field research, with the application of an electronic questionnaire, containing open and closed questions with graduates and semi-structured interviews with residents. and program coordinators. The data will be analyzed using the Content Analysis technique. The inferences, interpretations and analyzes of the data obtained will be carried out from a historical perspective, of totality and in light of the historical-dialectical method and theoretical-methodological framework adopted in the study.
