Agrarian Issue. Rural Education. Public Policies. PRONERA.
The proposed master's dissertation aims to analyze the effectiveness of the National Program of Education in Agrarian Reform (PRONERA) in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, investigating its outcomes in promoting rural education and strengthening rural settlements. Stemming from a historical context marked by inequalities in the Brazilian countryside and the emergence of rural social movements, the study seeks to understand how PRONERA emerges as a landmark initiative in rural education, articulated with the struggle for agrarian reform. The research is grounded in the analysis of PRONERA's trajectory in the state since its regulation in 2010, considering institutional changes and resource allocation for agrarian reform policy and the program itself. The study is based on an extensive literature review, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data related to rural education and PRONERA's performance in the state, as well as interviews and surveys with graduates that will allow a deeper understanding of the experiences and perceptions of those involved with the Program. Through this process, the aim is to contribute to academic debate and the improvement of public policies aimed at rural education in Brazil, especially in the context of the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
