The project presented here is a research about the impacts of the fiscal adjustment to the VI National Post-Graduation Plan (PNPG), as well as its repercussions to the Post-Graduation Program in Social Service of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (PPGSS/UFRN). This work has as specific objectives the following discursive elements: 1) Analyze the resources directed to the PPGSS/UFRN from the documental analysis of the data extracted from the Pluriannual Plan (PPA), Siga Brasil and annual management reports of the postgraduate dean's office and PPGSS/UFRN between the years 2016 to 2020; 2) Review the literature on fiscal adjustment, science, technology, PNPG and post-graduation considering the effects of fiscal adjustment in the post-graduation context; 3) Identify through the VIº PNPG (2011 to 2020) the political, economic and social impacts and their implications to the Brazilian scientific production. In order to achieve the results, the research is carried out considering the use of documental, bibliographic and field surveys in the light of the historical-dialectical materialism, of quantitative and qualitative character, considering the perspective of totality when analyzing the information obtained. This research aims to contribute to the accumulation of knowledge in this area.
