SUMMARY:

Violence against women began to occupy the public debate, due to a sum of issues that range from the demands of women's movements for gender equality, media agendas in the face of crimes of widespread social commotion, in addition to advances in the country's legislation , resulting in several state initiatives. Since 2019, the criminal justice system in the State of Rio Grande do Norte has implemented the preventive technology device policy also called the “panic button” for women who are under urgent protective measures under the Maria da Penha Law. The general objective of this research is to characterize the perceptions of women victims of violence, in the sphere of affective – maMadalena l relationships, about their relationship with the panic button. The study of the phenomenon seeks to dialogue with theoretical texts that problematize the culture of surveillance, with an emphasis on the categories of Zygmunt Bauman and David Lyon (2013) in Liquid surveillance and Technopolitics of surveillance – perspectives from the margin (2018). The research will be carried out through semi-structured interviews and focus groups with users of the panic button, whose emergency protective measures were established by the Court of the 1st Domestic Violence Court of the District of Natal.
