THE BLACK MOVEMENT IN NATAL/RN AND THE BLIND ALLEY OF THE MODERN POST POLICY
Racial inequalities; black movement; post modernism.
The purpose of this chapter is to analyze how the antiracist struggle in Natal interprets the reality of racial inequalities in Brazil today. From the explanation of the demobilizing mechanisms of Brazilian black protest, it was sought to observe how the antiracism in Natal is related to the hegemony of contemporary postmodern social thought. It is concluded that the anti-racist struggle in Natal was carried out since the 1980s by a Black Movement of a postmodern character allied to the Potiguar PT left and that, currently, under the background of profound socio-political transformations, this movement undergoes a deepening of its postmodern vocation that uncouples the explanation of the racial inequalities of a cultural, political and economic whole.
