micellar system; natural surfactant; corrosion inhibitor.
The metal corrosion is widely studied with the aim of obtaining a means to decrease or to avoid it. Even with a high percentage of inhibition, commercial corrosion inhibitors are often toxic to the environment and living beings, little available and high cost, which encouraged in recent years to the research of natural inhibitors in the form of extract of plants or oils essential. This study has lately become more interesting in the application of natural surfactant in microemulsion systems in order to optimize the corrosion process. In this work we applied the hydroalcoholic extract of jujube in a microemulsion containing saline aqueous solution of 3.5% NaCl (83%) -Tween 80 (15%) - Cotton oil (2%). The corrosion inhibition efficiency of micellar system was evaluated by electrochemical method of linear polarization curves, and specific inhibition efficiency was XX order for the following extract concentration which reached maximum efficiency of 94% at a concentration of 200 ppm extract solution; 94% at a concentration of 100 ppm in solution and microemulsion at 96% concentration microemulsion extract with solubilized in solution. Both the extract, as the microemulsion presented as the anodic type inhibitors.
